Richelle W. Kidder

Richelle is a member of the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Litigation
Group. Since joining Butler Snow in 2011, she has handled motions covering every aspect of
civil litigation. In conjunction with internal and external counsel, she has prepared thousands
of pleadings, motions and memoranda over her 20+ years of experience. Her work has included
removals to federal court, MDL filings, discovery motions, motions to dismiss, summary
judgment motions, motions to exclude, motions in limine, choice of law analyses, motions
to bifurcate, jury instructions and post-trial filings. Richelle also has extensive experience in
coordinating dispositive motions in federal and state mass torts involving prescription and
over-the-counter drugs and devices. In addition to her role as legal writer, Richelle enjoys a
strong working relationship with co-counsel across the country.
Richelle obtained her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center and
received her B.A., with honors in the liberal arts, from The Ohio State University. She clerked
for the Honorable David Hittner in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas,
Houston Division, from 2000 to 2002. Richelle has worked in private practice and the nonprofit
sector over her career. She is admitted to practice in Texas (inactive status), Tennessee
and Ohio.
