P. Thomas DiStanislao

Thomas DiStanislao is an attorney in Butler Snow’s Richmond, Virginia, office. As a member of Butler Snow’s Products, Catastrophic and Industrial Litigation, Appellate and Written Advocacy, and Commercial Litigation practice groups, Thomas has experience defending clients across the country in all stages of litigation in both state and federal courts. He has authored briefs before State Supreme Courts, U.S. District Courts, U.S. Courts of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Thomas represents clients in national and multi-district litigation in a wide range of subject-matters.

Before joining Butler Snow, Thomas clerked for Judge G. Steven Agee on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and Judge Henry E. Hudson on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Thomas is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Federalist Society, John Marshall American Inn of Court, Richmond Bar Association, and Federal Bar Association. Thomas finished first in his class at the University of Richmond School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the University of Richmond Law Review

Thomas earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University.
