Luther was Of Counsel with Butler Snow until his retirement in December 2021.  He concentrated his practice on appellate matters, media law, constitutional law, professional liability, and product liability defense. He is a past president of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and is the co-author of Mississippi Appellate Practice (2021).  He obtained his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, B.A. from Oxford University and A.B. from Princeton University.  Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Paul H. Roney on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Honorable Harry A. Blackmun on the U.S. Supreme Court.
