H. Barber Boone
With a technical background as a former IT consultant, Barber has over 15 years of experience handling matters with complex e-discovery issues. He has served as lead counsel or co-counsel on various large matters where complicated document issues persist throughout the litigation, such as trade secrets, false advertising and environmental litigation. He is also experienced in advising clients in response to cybersecurity issues, especially related to ransomware attacks. In addition to commercial litigation and cybersecurity issues, he also defends insurance companies and third-party administrators in bad faith litigation.
Barber is co-author of the Electronic Discovery chapter of the Mississippi Civil Procedure treatise. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® (Privacy and Data Security Law and Electronic Discovery and Information Management Law) and Mid-South Super Lawyers, and he is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He was named to the Top 50 Under 40 by the Mississippi Business Journal in 2015.
He holds a B.S.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Immediately after graduating from Vanderbilt, Barber worked for Accenture designing and coding large custom software for his clients. After several years at Accenture, he obtained his J.D. from the University of Mississippi. Barber is admitted to practice in Mississippi and Tennessee.
